The portal to Silliman University
This is the portal to the Silliman University in Dumaguete. Silliman University is the university where MrsC studied. It looks pretty impressive, doesn't it! Silliman University was founded on August 28 1901 as Silliman Institute. It was an elementary school for boys and it started its operations through a gift donation from a businessman and a Christian philanthropist, Dr. Horace Brinsmade Silliman (where Silliman University got its name). In 1938, it won full recognition as a university. It celebrates 100 years this year, 2001 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SILLIMAN UNIVERSITY! :-) And, yes - the beautiful woman in the foreground, is my dear MrsC. :-)
